Well i have been meaning to write on this for some time now but it just never happened for some reason. Now however it is, so anyways the point of this blog is...

Well i don't know actually, I was told it would be a good idea to set one up so i did. I intend to use this as some kind of accompanyment to my writing so hopefully things will fall into place the more I use it.

So I plan to be writer and have done for many a long year however like many other things in my life it just never happened. Having filled entire notebooks with ideas, scenes and plotlines I finally decided to get something done. However writing a 100,000 word novel is a bit of a daunting task so I decided to shoot for something smaller. A Novella? Sounds good to me.

With this in mind I am currently finalizing the plot points, characters and setting. It seems aq good plan to make it a prequel to the novel I have already started but gave up on due to epic writers block/ lazyness/ lack of confidence. However getting this Novella finished would be a good way to shake my previous 3 excuses and get going with the Novel.

So for anyone interested in what this Novella is going to be about it is based in a world that a large amount of my fantasy stories are. Some of my short stories are on my page on Protagonize so check them out to save me a long explanation. Although those stories are old and will no longer will fit with the canon of future works they still hold the basic feel and premise of what Im working on. The Novella itself is centred on the events surrounding a stand off between two countries. The main characters son is killed in a skirmish and he sets about creating equipment to prevent such a thing happening again, however when peace is made and the research he is doing becomes obsolete, leaving him with nothing to live for. This results in him being easy prey for much darker forces who are using the characters, countries and the war itself for their own agenda. The novella lays the groundwork for the Novels to move from while at the same time (Hopefully) is its own self contained story.

So there we go, I shall probably update this as I make some progress. All I need now is some coffee, late nights and a bit of focus!
